SRAEHL Named Knowledge Exchange Hero (Team) at the 11th Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards
The Scottish Research Alliance for Energy, Homes and Livelihoods (SRAEHL) has been named Knowledge Exchange Hero (Team) at the 11th Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards!
The awards, organised by Interface, took place at the University of Stirling on Thursday 19th March and gathered researchers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers for a night of recognition, networking, and shared ambition. Celebrating teams and individuals across sectors including whisky, construction, energy, transport, justice, communications, health and mental health, the awards recognise leaders in knowledge exchange, where businesses and academics collaborate.
Picking up the award for Knowledge Exchange Hero (Team), SRAEHL has been recognised for fostering cross-sector collaboration to drive research that delivers tangible societal impact – uniting Scotland’s universities with industry, business, government, charities, and local communities to co-create solutions for Scotland’s net zero future.
Professor Mette High, Director of the Alliance said: “It was an amazing evening, celebrating the impressive achievements across the sector. Scotland is a powerhouse for knowledge exchange – we are really good at breaking down silos and working with partners not only within but also beyond academia. To win the Scottish Knowledge Exchange Hero (team) Award is such an honour – I couldn’t believe it!
“From the very start, the Alliance has been an ambitious project anchored in an ethos of cross-sector collaboration. The leadership team involves the Universities of Strathclyde, Stirling, Edinburgh and St Andrews. Together, we connect researchers from every university across Scotland, sparking collaborations with industry, business, charities, community organisations, and local authorities. To turn the aspiration of collaboration into reality takes a lot of hard work, and I am so grateful to the team for making this so much fun!”

Amelia Whitelaw, Director of Interface said: “What stood out this year was the strength of collaboration across sectors. We’re seeing businesses, public bodies and third sector organisations working with colleges, research institutions and universities in ways that are delivering real impact for Scotland, from tackling net zero challenges to improving health and well-being. That’s exactly what these awards are here to recognise.”
Congratulations to all the winners and a special thank you to Interface for the recognition!
