There are an expanding number of isolated financial research programmes and initiatives aimed at decarbonising Scotland’s housing and building stock. It is essential to unite these initiatives into a single cross-sector coalition to meet the ambitious challenge of reaching net zero by 2045, requiring Scotland to upgrade and retrofit millions of homes.

The Financial Pathways theme will contribute to this by forging a coalition of financial institutions, researchers, governmental bodies, and community groups around a common ambition of financing the decarbonisation of Scotland’s housing stock and engaging with households.

This will be achieved by facilitating connections, collaboration and knowledge exchange between stakeholder groups on opportunities for financial innovations and solutions to meet this national investment challenge.
